Full form of RTGS is
Real-Time Gross Settlement. It is a type of payment system which processes
amount transfer instantaneously. The processing of RTGS request is done as soon
as it is placed.
RTGS is one of the
fastest interbank money transfer system existing through banking network in
India.
When money is
transferred through RTGS, following information is required
The value of an amount to be transferred
(1) Name of the payee(beneficiary)
(2) Name of the bank of the payee(beneficiary)
(3) IFSC Code of payee bank
(4) Account number of the payee(beneficiary)
RTGS payment method
is accounted through the Reserve Bank of India that is why it is very popular and
secure method of fund transfer.
